What are unified communications?

Unified Communications is defined as "Communications integrated to optimise business processes". Essentially integrating real-time and non-real time communications with business processes based on presence capabilities, presenting a consistent user interface and experience across multiple devices. Unified Communication is not a single product; but a solution made up of a variety of components and elements, including: messaging (email, instant messaging, voice, video), phone calls, conferencing (audio, web, video), presence (online and telephony), device awareness and status, and information sharing (web chat, file sharing etc), all tied together with a common user interface.

The Panasonic NCP range offers its Communication Assistant Series productivity software suite, is a highly intuitive PC based application as there answer to the unified communication problem.

The Communication Assistant empowers the user with powerful point and click telephony together with rich presence, availability, integration with Microsoft Outlook® and integration with a variety of collaboration tools, all to help simplify and enhance real-time communications for business telephony users

Communication assistant is a sever-less solution therefore there is no need for expensive server, installation times are reduced, less equipment to go wrong and no risk to hacking or virus attack altogether reducing costs.

On a practical level all NCP models ship with on board Simple Voicemail, Auto Attendant facility and Call Queuing.

Each system also ships with 4 basic software licences for instant integration with Microsoft Outlook. This enables dialling from outlook and incoming screen pop of user record.

All of this makes the NCP a very cost effective solution for small or medium business alike.
